Incognito
By modern standards, work no longer exists solely within the hours of nine till five, in a predetermined location such as what our predecessors are used to. Many enterprising fields of employment are now discovering new ways to efficiently and effectively work within our society, and because of such, the tools and devices we carry with us must adapt to suit a more flexible and mobile work environment.
Faced with the challenge of designing a product to enable the modern day worker, I decided to pursue an avenue that allowed the user to adapt to their ever changing environment. I focused on designing something that would allow the user to set their own boundaries, both on the move and while stationary, in both a private and public setting. Cue Incognito, a laptop bag featuring two partitions that can act as a visual barrier on a crowded mode of public transport, and then detach from the main compartment allowing the user to define their own space in a public work setting, such as a desk at a busy city library.
Incognito is not only a laptop bag, but a tool, one that allows the modern mobile worker to define their boundaries both on the move and in a stationary location. An adaptive piece of design that can enable, and allow one to work as efficiently as possible in an ever changing environment.
